4 Steps to Connect Your Instagram and Facebook Business Page for Auto-posting

Next, let's check your connection through Facebook

1. Log into your Facebook account on a computer, click on the Profile icon in the top right, select from the drop down to switch into your Page 
2. Click the Profile icon again, select Settings & Privacy > Settings
3. From here, on the left side, under Permissions, select Linked accounts

1. You will then see the Instagram account connected to that Business page as well as View and Disconnect if needed
2. To add an account, click Connect account. Type in your Instagram account's username and password, and select Log in
   
   

Error: Page already belongs to a business

In Instagram, you might see this error when selecting a Facebook Page to connect:

This error means that the Facebook Page you are trying to connect is being managed in Business Manager. You’ll need to ask the Page owner to confirm the connection for you through Instagram, or you can try connecting through Facebook if you have the correct permissions.

If you can’t access your Page’s Linked Accounts page (which is the Settings > Instagram page on classic Pages), you may not have the correct role or access to your Facebook Page.

On classic Pages, you must have the admin role. On new Pages, you must have Facebook access with full control. Learn about Facebook Page access and roles

Instagram wants me to log into somebody else’s Facebook account

If Instagram prompts you to log into somebody else’s Facebook account when configuring Accounts Center, it means somebody else already manages that Instagram profile in Accounts Center. 

In this situation, you will not be able to confirm the connection through the Instagram app. Instead, you should connect through Facebook if you have the right level of permissions.

Error: Page is already linked to Instagram account

In Instagram, you might see this error when selecting a Facebook Page to connect:

This means that the Facebook Page you selected is already connected to another Instagram account. Due to limitations set by Facebook, only one Instagram profile can be connected to one Facebook Page.

If you’re not able to confirm the connection through Instagram you’ll need to ask the Page owner to confirm the connection for you. Here’s how they can do this:

1. In the Instagram app, tap your profile picture in the bottom right
2. Tap Edit Profile
3. In the Page section, tap the orange Confirm icon
4. If prompted, log into Business Manager
5. Follow the prompts to confirm the connection

Step 2 | How to Manage the Admin Settings for your Facebook Business Page

Confirm You Have Full Control of the Facebook Page

1. Log into your Facebook account on a computer web browser, switch into your Business page
2. Click on your profile icon dropdown and choose Meta Business Suite
3. In the bottom left corner, click on Settings
4. On the left panel, under Accounts, click on Business Asset Groups 
5. From this page, create Business Asset Group > name the group > Select page or Select All > next
   
6. Next you will Select People or Select All > Toggle Access and Permissions > create
   
7. Once created, you can then click on Manage next to user to edit access, permission and remove user
   

Next, Check to See if you have Instagram Accounts Access or Invite & Manage people 

1. Log into your Facebook account and navigate to Meta Business Suite
2. Click on People under Users on the top left > click on Invite people from the top right
   
   
3. Enter the correct email address of the person you are inviting to the Facebook Business page and click Next at the bottom of the window  
   
   
4. Make sure you have the toggle for Full Access turned on and click Save
5. From here, type in the correct Facebook/Instagram page that you want to give access to and select all that apply and choose Confirm selection
6. If you scroll down, go ahead and toggle on the Full control access (there are two sections where you will toggle this on)
   
   
   
7. Once you can confirm the person you are inviting is showing on this screen and has full control of the Facebook page, click on Send invitation 
   
   
8. Next, you will see that your invitation was sent. After that, you can click Done.
9. And you will now see that the person you invited has full control

 

In some cases, we need to re-establish the connection between Facebook, Instagram, and Planoly. Let's walk through the steps together! 

 

1. How to navigate to your Business Integration settings in Facebook:

1. Log into your Facebook account (not Business Page) from a computer
2. In the top right, click your profile icon
3. Select Settings & privacy > Settings
4. On the left side, tap on Business Integrations
5. You should see Planoly listed under Active at the top, or search for it using the search bar to the right

2. How to Revoke settings on Facebook

1. Find Planoly and click Remove

 

Please note: Once you remove this business integration from your account it can no longer manage your Page on Planoly. 

3. How to Reenable settings on Planoly

1. Log into Planoly from a computer Chrome web browser
2. Click on the Account Switcher in the top left and select Add & Edit Social Connections
3. You will land on the Social Sets Manager page where you can begin linking all social channels
4. Click on the social profile that needs to be refreshed or linked
5. Continue
6. Link Instagram
7. Login via Facebook
8. When you receive the prompt below, click on Edit Access and make sure ALL toggles/boxes for ALL pages are ON/CHECKED

1. If all toggles are on or boxes checked, click the X at the top. If not, toggle on or check any boxes not marked
2. Click Continue as "name"
3. The prompt to select the Instagram username will appear and you will click Link Username for the account you are linking

 

Please note: removing Planoly and completing these steps will result in all social channels linked to your account needing reauthorizing, not just a specific channel. You’ll also need to reschedule planned posts after revoking and reenabling Planoly’s permissions.
