How to Link and Auto-Post to TikTok

How to Link to TikTok

Multi-Channel Workspace

  1. Log into your account on web and switch into your Multi-Channel Workspace
  2. From the icons at the top, click on the TikTok icon to link your account

  3. A pop-up will show up and from there, click on Link TikTok from the bottom  
  4. Follow the flow to get linked 
  5. Once you are linked, you should see the screen below showing you successfully linked
  6. From there, you can confirm it was linked by seeing it show up in your social icons at the top

Planoly Pro Tip: We recommend logging in using your username and password in order to successfully link your TikTok account. Other methods that TikTok provides for logging in may not be supported.



How to Auto-Post to TikTok from the Web Dashboard

Multi-Channel Workspace

  1. Log into your Planoly on the web dashboard
  2. Switch into your Multi-Channel Workspace or create a new Multi-Channel Workspace if you do not already have one set up

  3.  Click on the calendar icon on the left and click on New Post

  4. Select TikTok from the icons at the top 
  5. Create your caption, add hashtags, etc.
  6. Choose Auto-Post from the dropdown and select a date you want to auto-post this or select a date for your reminder notification if you choose that option
  7. Once complete, choose Schedule at the top
  8. Now, you should see your post scheduled on your grid with an auto-post icon and a blue 'S'!

How to Auto-Post to TikTok from the Mobile App

  1. Open up the Planoly mobile app
  2. Switch into your workspace

  3. Click on the '+' at the bottom to add a post

  4. Choose TikTok from the top social icons, add your media, caption, hashtags, etc. 
  5. Choose a date and time to schedule the post and toggle on auto-post

  6. Once your post is ready to go, click on Schedule at the bottom
  7. You should see your post show up in the grid with a blue 'S' and a paper airplane on it to show that it has been successfully scheduled for auto-post!


TikTok Supported Media Types and Size Limits

  • The audio-video content must be contained in .mp4, .mov, or .webm format
  • The maximum video size is 1 GB
  • The minimum video duration must be 3 seconds, and the maximum video duration is up to 600 seconds (10 minutes)
  • The minimum height and minimum width of the video must be 360 pixels
  • The minimum frame rate of the video must be 23 FPS, and the maximum frame rate is 60 FPS 

Frequently Asked Questions

What accounts can auto-post to TikTok?
  • Personal and Business accounts are eligible for auto-posting to TikTok.
  • Are there feature limitations when auto-posting to TikTok?
    • Yes, due to TikTok limitations, we are unable to support the following:
      • Applying overlay text

      • Applying stickers

      • Applying filters

      • Music: Searching or applying trending audio is also unavailable

        Only original audio is supported, so any trending sounds must be added to the video beforehand to automatically publish the post or you can select the Publish Manually option to add sound in TikTok using push notifications

  • Can I auto-post a sound URL with my video?

    • Sound URLs are not included in auto-posting. The video must contain any sounds needed for publishing. 

  • Can I customize auto-posting for other platforms in the video planning workspace?
    • If you want to auto-post to TikTok, you cannot customize it for other platforms (For now). If you want to schedule to other platforms, you'll need to re-upload the video as a separate post and customize it for those channels.

  • Can I disable comments, stitches, or duets when scheduling?

    • Not at this time.

  • Can I specify a cover photo?

    • Not at this time.
