How to Know What Counts as an Upload

Wondering why you are running out of uploads or what even counts as one on Planoly? Below, we have broken down what counts as an upload across our Personal and Starter plans.

What Counts as an Upload

Personal Plan (free plan)

  • Uploads: 10 total
  • Uploads count as:
    • Anything added to the grid
    • Placeholders (Instagram planner only)
    • Swapping Images (for placeholders and/or existing content)
    • Cropping Content already Uploaded
    • Items added to the grid from the Discover Dashboard (Instagram planner only)
    • Merging content to create a carousel post

Starter Plan

  • Uploads: 60 per social set
  • Uploads count as:
    • Anything added to the grid
      • In our Multi-Channel Workspace, if you upload 1 file and it gets auto-added to all the channels in the post group, then it counts as 1 upload, but if you manually upload the same image 5 times to each individual social channel, it'll count as 5 uploads
    • Placeholders (Instagram planner only)
    • Swapping Images (for placeholders and/or existing content)
    • Cropping Content already Uploaded
    • Items added to the grid from the Discover Dashboard (Instagram planner only)
    • Merging content to create a carousel post

Please Note: Uploads reset on the 1st of each month.

Planoly Pro Tip: When creating a new post to upload through our Multi-Channel Workspace, the best practice is to enable all the channels you want to upload content to first, select the post type for each one (e.g. Reel, Grid post, Story, etc.), then upload the media to the first post and it will get added to all the other posts automatically, except for carousels - that will only add the first file in the carousel to the other posts.
