Amazon 101
What are Amazon Posts?
Amazon Posts are curated high-quality lifestyle imagery in placements across Amazon. Posts drive discovery and consideration of products. Posts are not ad placements! They’re organic (for now).
Amazon says, “By curating select images and sharing to help encourage browsing, you can help drive viewable impressions and observe other engagement metrics, such as clicks, at no cost to you.”
Where do my Posts appear?
They appear in the following places:
- Detail Page
- Top of Amazon Search
- The Inspire Tab
- Category Feeds
- On your store
All the Amazon posts you publish will appear in your Store under the “Posts” tab in what is often referred to as a Brand Feed. Posts will appear on other pages according to the Amazon algorithm.
Amazon Store Setup
How do I create my Amazon account? What do I need to start planning and sharing Amazon Posts?
To post to Amazon, you will need to have:
- An Amazon Store (vendor or professional seller enrolled in Amazon Brand Registry)
- You’ll also need a Brand Profile
- An Advertiser ID
- A product to sell
- Content to post
You can read more about getting set up on Amazon for using Posts here.
What is an Amazon Storefront?
An Amazon Storefront allows you to create a multi-page experience that introduces customers to your business, tells your brand story, and showcases your catalog through customizable rich media such as text, imagery, and video content.

Amazon Products
What is an ASIN?
ASIN stands for Amazon Standard Identification Number. All Amazon Posts must contain at least one ASIN. ASINs are unique and consist of 10 letters and numbers assigned by Amazon.com for a product. They are primarily used for product identification within Amazon.com's catalog (and can even be used to generate a product URL)!
How Can I Find My Amazon ASIN Number?
You can find your Amazon ASIN number in two convenient places:
- A product’s web address on Amazon
- A product’s details on Amazon

- Have an active Amazon connected
- Log into your account and select create new post

- Once you have those ready, you can add up to 10 ASINs using the ‘More Options’ section
- To add an ASIN, enter the number and press Enter
- You can validate your ASIN by hovering over the numbers and clicking on it
- This should open a link to the product that corresponds to your ASIN in a new window
- Once you’re done, you can select a time to auto-post or get a reminder notification.
- Don’t forget to tap ‘Schedule’ or ‘Save Draft’ once you finish.
How far in advance should I schedule? How long does it take for posts to be reviewed?
We recommend scheduling posts 24 hours before they go live, as Amazon can take up to 24 hours to review them before they are added to your Brand Profile and the wider Amazon site.
Post review can take up to 24 hours but is often much quicker!
How can I tell the status of a post?
Amazon Posts status can be different than other platforms.
They are:
- In Review: Amazon is looking at your content for approval.
- Scheduled: Your content is scheduled
- Published: Your content is live.
- Failed To Post: Your content failed to post
To help you understand the status of your scheduled post, you can visit your Dashboard and see the status of your Amazon content by:
- Hovering over a post group containing an Amazon Post on your Calendar
- Hovering over a post group containing an Amazon Post on your Grid or List View
If you opt into notifications, you will receive updates when your scheduled Amazon Posts are Live (or if they fail).
What if I don’t want to auto-post and want to post manually?
You can use our reminder feature if you don’t want to auto-post. Just give yourself enough time for Amazon’s team to review your post.
Remember, if you’re using reminders, you must post via the Amazon console. Instructions on how to do so are here.
