How to Report Image or Video Quality Problems with Instagram
If you are experiencing image or video quality issues when publishing content to Instagram, the issue may be related to Instagram’s processing or compression rather than Planoly directly.
You can report these quality issues directly to Instagram using the steps below.
Planoly Pro Tip
To help maintain the highest possible image quality when publishing to Instagram:
- Upload images with a width of at least 1080 pixels
- Use an aspect ratio between 1.91:1 and 4:5
- Avoid heavily compressed image files before uploading
Please Note: Instagram may still apply its own compression after publishing depending on the content type and device.
How to Report a Quality Issue to Instagram
- Open the Instagram app
- Tap your profile picture in the bottom right corner
- Tap the menu icon in the top right corner
- Select Settings & Privacy
- Tap Help
- Tap Report a Problem
From here, you can either:
- Return to the screen where the issue occurred and use Instagram’s built in bug reporting tool
- Or tap “Report problem without shaking” to submit the issue manually
Then follow the on-screen instructions to complete your report.
Additional Notes
- Image and video quality may vary between iPhone and Android devices due to Instagram’s native processing behavior.
- Instagram may automatically compress media after upload depending on file size, resolution, internet connection, or device type.
- Re-uploading the media directly through Instagram can help determine whether the issue is platform-related or Instagram-related.
