How to Import Missing Content to Planoly

If you are looking to manually add previously posted Instagram videos, Reels, or collab posts to your Planoly plan grid, we've got you covered!

Import Missing Content via Web Dashboard

  1. Log into Planoly and Navigate to the Instagram Planner or Multi-channel Workspace

  2. In the Instagram Planner

    1. Click + New Post

    2. Select Source Import missing grid posts

    3. Upload your media

    4. Select Continue

  3. In the Multi-channel Workspace
    1. Scroll to the bottom of your Live IG grid view
    2. Click + Add Missing Grid Post
    3. Upload your media 
    4. Select Add to Grid

  4. Drag and drop your imported post to the correct spot and select Continue

  5. You will now see your post on the plan grid. You're all set! 

To Note: Due to changes Instagram made to their API, Instagram no longer provides thumbnail URLs through their API endpoint, which means we're unable to retrieve, add, or store images for missing posts the way we used to. 

To upload a thumbnail, you'll need to do so on the web dashboard. Mobile uploading thumbnails is not available at this time. 

These imported posts are visual placeholders only. They won't include analytics or performance metrics at this time in our Instagram Planner. Only posts scheduled through Planoly will show engagement data, reach, and other insights. This keeps your grid complete while maintaining the analytics you rely on for posts managed through our platform.

Delete Imported Posts from the Plan Grid 

On web:

  1. Log into your Planoly account on a web dashboard
  2. Hover your cursor over your imported posts
  3. Click on the white bubble at the top right of your imported posts
  4. Click on delete at the bottom of your plan grid
  5. All set!

On mobile:

  1. Open the Planoly mobile app
  2. Click into your imported post
  3. Click on delete in the top right corner
  4. All set!
