What is it?

Normally, your AI chatbot is stuck in its own window. It's great for writing a caption, but it can't actually do anything for you.

MCP (Model Context Protocol) changes that. It's a secure connector between your AI and Planoly. Once connected, your assistant can see your scheduled posts, pull analytics, browse your media library, and publish to your socials, all without you leaving the chat.

You're always in control: OAuth login (no passwords shared), access scoped to your workspace, and a confirmation prompt before anything is published or deleted.

Requires a paid plan for Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini.

FAQ

Where do I actually use this?
Everything happens in your AI chat window (ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini), not inside Planoly. It won't show up as a button or option inside the app. Just open your chat and ask it directly, for example: "Show me any posts without a caption in the [workspace name] workspace."

Does this replace Planoly's built-in caption AI?
No, they're separate. The caption AI inside Planoly (the one you access by clicking AI on a post) still works the same way it always has. The MCP is a different, more powerful assistant you talk to from outside Planoly.

Does it work on the iOS app, or just the website?
It works across your whole account. Since this is in alpha, you'll need to be on the latest version, the newest Android app or the latest iOS build via TestFlight. If you need help getting set up or moved over, our support team is happy to help.

Do I need to reconnect my social channels?
No, your channels stay connected as they are.

Do I need to know Claude Code to use this?
Nope, you can use Claude Cowork or Claude Chat to access your Planoly via the MCP.
