Why do I have two workspaces after migrating to Social Planner?

After migrating to Social Planner, you may notice that you now have two workspaces where you previously had one. This is expected, here's why it happens and what to do about it.

Why do I have two workspaces?

In the previous version of Planoly, Instagram Planner (IGP) and Social Content Planner (SCP) were separate tools that could both be connected to the same Instagram account. Because they stored content independently, your IGP content and your SCP content existed as two separate sets of data — even if they were linked to the same Instagram username.

When your account was migrated to Social Planner, each of those content sets was brought over as its own workspace. That's why you may now see:

  • Your original workspace — named whatever you had it set to before (e.g., "Social Set," "My Brand," etc.), carrying over your SCP content and connections.
  • A new workspace — automatically named "Instagram - @[yourusername]", carrying over your IGP content.

Both workspaces belong to you and contain your content — they just came from different places.

What should I do?

We recommend deleting the older workspace to keep your account clean and avoid confusion going forward. Since Social Planner brings everything into one place, you no longer need both.

Before deleting, take a moment to review both workspaces and make sure the content and connections in the one you're keeping are set up the way you want.

Important: Deleting a workspace is permanent and cannot be undone. Make sure you've reviewed your content before proceeding.

How to delete a workspace

  1. Go to Settings in the left navigation.
  2. Select Workspaces.
  3. Find the workspace you want to remove and click Settings next to it.
  4. Scroll down and select Delete Workspace.
  5. Confirm the deletion.

What if I want to keep both?

That's completely fine — you're not required to delete either workspace. Just keep in mind that having two workspaces with the same Instagram account connected may cause some confusion when scheduling or reviewing content. We recommend renaming them clearly (e.g., "IGP Archive" and "Main Workspace") so it's easy to tell them apart.
