      How to Link and Auto-Post to Instagram

      Auto-Posting to Instagram is available in both our Instagram Planner and Multi-Channel Workspace on the web dashboard and mobile app.

      How does Auto-Posting via Instagram Planner differ from Auto-Posting via the Multi-Channel Workspace?

      We offer two ways of posting to Instagram from Planoly. First, you can link and auto-post through Instagram Planner, or you can link and auto-post directly to Instagram through our Multi-Channel Workspace. If you are looking to plan content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube all at once, we recommend you set up auto-posting to Instagram through our Multi-Channel workspace. 

      Please Note: 

      • When you have an Instagram account authenticated on Planoly, you can unlink in either the Instagram Planner or Multi-Channel Workspace without unlinking in the other system.

      • If you link an IG account to Instagram Planner, you can opt to not have an IG linked in the Multi-Channel Workspace and vice versa. 

      • You can have the same IG account linked within the same social set on both the Instagram Planner and the Multi-Channel Workspace, but you cannot have the same IG account linked on different workspaces. 

      How to Link to Instagram

      Multi-Channel Workspace

      1. Log into your Planoly account on web 
      2. From the account switcher, click on Add + Edit Social Connections
      3. From there, click on the Instagram icon on the left under the Multi-Channel Workspace
      4. Follow the flow to get linked and make sure the correct account is checked and that all permissions are turned on 
      5. Once you are linked, you should see your Instagram account linked at the top! 

      Instagram Planner

      1. Log into your Planoly account on web 
      2. From the account switcher, click on Add + Edit Social Connections
      3. From there, click on the Instagram icon on the right under the IG Planner
      4. From there, choose either Business or Creator account 
      5. Follow the flow to get linked and make sure the correct account is checked and that all permissions are turned on 
      6. Once you are linked, you should see your Instagram account linked at the top! 

      How to Auto-Post to Instagram from the Web Dashboard

      Multi-Channel Workspace 

      1. Log into your Planoly account on web and switch into the workspace you want to post from
      2. Click on New Post
      3. Choose Instagram from the icons at the top and add your media, caption, hashtags, mentions, etc.
      4. From the dropdown, make sure to choose the Auto-Post option and select a date and time you want it to be posted
      5. Once your post is ready to schedule, click on Schedule or choose Save Draft if you are not done planning yet 
      6. Once the post is properly scheduled for auto-post, you will see a blue 'S' with a airplane icon indicating it is scheduled for auto-post 
      7. You are all set!

      Instagram Planner 

      1. On the web dashboard, click into a post
      2. To schedule, go ahead and choose a date and time, and make sure the auto-post toggle is turned ON 
      3. Once this is complete, click on Save at the bottom of the window
      4. To check if this is properly scheduled for auto-post, in the Scheduled tab, you will need to make sure the post has a blue 'S' with a paper airplane in the top left corner. If it doesn't have one or both, then you will need to try rescheduling it again.
      5. When you see the blue 'S' with a paper airplane, your post has been successfully scheduled for auto-post!

      How to Auto-Post to Instagram from the Mobile App

      Multi-Channel Workspace

      1. Open up the Planoly mobile app
      2. Switch into your workspace
         
      3. Click on the '+' at the bottom to add a post
      4. Choose Instagram from the top social icons, add your media, caption, hashtags, etc., and select which type of post you want (i.e. Grid Post, Reel, or Story) 
      5. Choose a date and time to schedule the post and toggle on auto-post
      6. Once your post is ready to go, click on Schedule at the bottom
      7. You should see your post show up in the grid with a blue 'S' and a paper airplane on it to show that it has been successfully scheduled for auto-post!

      Please Note: Creator IG accounts are not eligible for Stories auto-posting at this time. 

      Instagram Planner

      1. On the Planoly mobile app, click into a post
      2. To schedule, go ahead and choose a date and time and make sure the auto-post toggle is turned ON
      3. Once this is complete, click on Save at the bottom of the window
      4. To check if this is properly scheduled for auto-post, in the Scheduled tab, you will need to make sure the post has a blue 'S' with a paper airplane in the top left corner. If it doesn't have one or both, then you will need to try rescheduling it again. 
      5. When you see the blue 'S' with a paper airplane, your post has been successfully scheduled for auto-post

      How to Auto-Post to Instagram Stories on our Instagram Planner on the Web Dashboard

      1. On the web dashboard, at the top, choose New Story
      2. To schedule, go ahead and choose a date and time and make sure the auto-post to Instagram toggle is turned ON
      3. Once this is complete, click on Save at the bottom of the window 
      4. To check if this is properly scheduled for auto-post, in the Scheduled tab, you will need to make sure the post has a blue 'S' with a paper airplane in the top left corner. If it doesn't have one or both, then you will need to try rescheduling it again.         
      5. When you see the blue 'S' with a paper airplane, your post has been successfully scheduled for auto-post!

      Please note: Stories Auto-Post is available for Instagram Business or Creator accounts that have properly authenticated to a Facebook Business page. This is part of Instagram's Auto-Post Guidelines and Limitations. This feature is only available on the Planoly web dashboard at this time.
