How to Link and Auto-Post to Instagram

Auto-Posting to Instagram is available in both our Multi-Channel Workspace and Instagram Planner on the web dashboard and mobile app.

Log into your Planoly account on web
From the account switcher, click on Add + Edit Social Connections
From there, click on the Instagram icon on the left under the Multi-Channel Workspace
From there, choose Business or Creator account
Have you created a Facebook business page for your Instagram account?
1. In order to link properly and activate auto-post, let's select yes. See help guide here to make sure your Facebook page is set up properly.
Follow the flow to get linked and make sure the correct account is checked and that all permissions are turned on
Once you are linked, you should see your Instagram account linked at the top!

Log into your Planoly account on web
From the account switcher, click on Add + Edit Social Connections
From there, click on the Instagram icon on the right under the IG Planner

Once you are linked, you should see your Instagram account linked at the top!

Log into your Planoly account on web and switch into the workspace you want to post from
Click on New Post
Choose Instagram from the icons at the top and add your media, caption, hashtags, mentions, etc.
From the dropdown, make sure to choose the Auto-Post option and select a date and time you want it to be posted
Once your post is ready to schedule, click on Schedule or choose Save Draft if you are not done planning yet
Once the post is properly scheduled for auto-post, you will see a blue 'S' with a airplane icon indicating it is scheduled for auto-post
You are all set!

On the web dashboard, click into a post
To schedule, go ahead and choose a date and time, and make sure the auto-post toggle is turned ON
Once this is complete, click on Save at the bottom of the window
To check if this is properly scheduled for auto-post, in the Scheduled tab, you will need to make sure the post has a blue 'S' with a paper airplane in the top left corner. If it doesn't have one or both, then you will need to try rescheduling it again.
When you see the blue 'S' with a paper airplane, your post has been successfully scheduled for auto-post!

Open up the Planoly mobile app
Switch into your workspace
Click on the '+' at the bottom to add a post
Choose Instagram from the top social icons, add your media, caption, hashtags, etc., and select which type of post you want (i.e. Grid Post, Reel, or Story)
Choose a date and time to schedule the post and toggle on auto-post
Once your post is ready to go, click on Schedule at the bottom
You should see your post show up in the grid with a blue 'S' and a paper airplane on it to show that it has been successfully scheduled for auto-post!

On the Planoly mobile app, click into a post
To schedule, go ahead and choose a date and time and make sure the auto-post toggle is turned ON
Once this is complete, click on Save at the bottom of the window

On the web dashboard, at the top, choose New Story
To schedule, go ahead and choose a date and time and make sure the auto-post to Instagram toggle is turned ON
Once this is complete, click on Save at the bottom of the window
To check if this is properly scheduled for auto-post, in the Scheduled tab, you will need to make sure the post has a blue 'S' with a paper airplane in the top left corner. If it doesn't have one or both, then you will need to try rescheduling it again.
When you see the blue 'S' with a paper airplane, your post has been successfully scheduled for auto-post!

Please Note: Creator IG accounts are not eligible for Stories auto-posting at this time.

Please Note:

When you have an Instagram account authenticated on Planoly, you can unlink in either the Instagram Planner or Multi-Channel Workspace without unlinking in the other system.
If you link an IG account to Instagram Planner, you can opt to not have an IG linked in the Multi-Channel Workspace and vice versa.
You must have the same IG account linked within the same social set on both the Instagram Planner and the Multi-Channel Workspace.
Instagram grid on our Multi-Channel Workspace is not yet available on Android devices.
